About Little Data Solutions
Little Data Solutions is owned and operated by Tammy L Armstrong, who brings over a decade of experience in analytics, reporting, and visionary leadership. She is passionate about helping teams articulate their vision and mission, develop their strategic plan, and select systems and practices to execute those plans flawlessly. She is deeply experienced in KPI and report development. Power BI is her happy place.
Most recently, Tammy led several operations analytics teams for a large health insurance company in the Midwest. Previously, she worked directly with nonprofits for five years, serving as the director of analytics for Oregon Episcopal School and actively volunteering with the Willamette Valley Development Officers and Association of Advancement Services Professionals. She holds a Master’s degree in Analytics from North Carolina State University and an Economics degree from Gettysburg College.
Tammy is an active volunteer and serves as the President of Des Moines Data for Good, a 501c3 organization that connects nonprofits with local analytics volunteers free of charge. She is also a member of the nonprofit consultant network, Heart of Des Moines. She has served on panels and presented on analytics and data storytelling for local and national audiences, and co-hosted the podcast Bright Lights, Big Data (currently on hiatus). She was a 2018 Fellow and former board member of the Des Moines New Leaders Council, served as Treasurer of Reboot Iowa, a startup nonprofit bringing technology education to adult learners, and on the board of the Des Moines Data & Analytics Meetup.
An avid baker, crafter, and gamer, Tammy lives in Des Moines, Iowa with her husband, daughter, and their two cats.
Values
Empowering
We believe in dreaming big, in ignoring the assumptions of why something won’t work and redefining what is possible. We’ll ask “if you could wave a magic wand, what would you do?” and design our approach around that goal.
Caring
We care for our clients through straightforward and respectful translation of technical information to nontechnical audiences, human-centered design thinking, and a genuine desire to help clients fulfill their missions.
Welcoming
We welcome clients of all genders, sexual orientations, nationalities, races, religions, ages, abilities/disabilities, and walks of life. We believe all humans are worthy of dignity and respect, and work with clients who share this belief.
Growing
We believe in continual growth, that things can always be made better, and that an iterative approach is often best. We learn something new from each client and project, and carry each lesson forward.
